Grangegorman Military Cemetery is the largest military cemetery in the Republic of Ireland. It opened in 1876 and contains the graves of casualties of both World Wars as well graves of soldiers who died in the Easter Rising of 1916. It contains 613 burials including some from Australia and New Zealand. The cemetery was the scene on Tuesday 25th April 2006 of the first ANZAC day in Ireland which was attended by over 100 people. The Australian and the Turkish ambassadors spoke.
